Frequently Asked Questions

What if I don’t know my “style”?

Not a problem! 80% of clients can’t pinpoint their style type and its definitely not something to stress out about. I have a unique discovery process- I analyze your answers from the Design Inspiration questionnaire, identify common themes from your inspiration photos, consider any existing furniture pieces etc., your lifestyle, needs of family and pets, and I am able to synthesize all of that in my brain to define your unique style that fits your home.

What is included in a revision?

Revisions are changes that are typically no more than 25% of the total design. Keep in mind that each item of your design package is carefully selected as a part of a cohesive plan, and one change may require other changes to maintain harmony and flow. If you’re dreaming of a completely new direction, we’ll need to start a new Design Plan.

How do we communicate?

Email will be our primary form of communication, but I am available for calls if needed. I kindly ask that you respond within 48 hours to stay on track with our project timeline. A brief acknowledgment of my emails is appreciated- something like, “received, will respond later,” reassures me they weren’t lost.

Am I required to purchase the items you select?

Absolutely not. There is never any pressure to buy a thing! I encourage you to seek out product dupes or find similar items on Facebook Marketplace. I am a firm believer that EVERYTHING can eventually be found on the marketplace, if you have the patience. I’m also a big fan of upcycling furniture. They don’t make things like they used to, and with a few small tweaks, an old piece can be given new life!

Do you purchase the recommended items on my behalf?

I've found that it's really in our best interest for me not to get involved. Since I don't have a partnership with the retailers, you'll enjoy the original prices without any added fees. Plus, you'll be able to jump on sales whenever they pop up! This way, you can choose what to buy and when it works best for you. By cutting out the middle-man, arranging deliveries becomes a breeze, and you'll have a smoother experience with any potential returns too!

How long does it take?

You will receive your first design concept board within two weeks from when I receive your inspiration photos and measurements. The rest depends on the number and nature of any revisions, but typically does not take longer than 2 weeks.

Should I anticipate any other costs?

No. I charge a one-time flat fee. Other than any purchases you decide to make, there are no other costs associated with your design plan. Item prices are subject to change based on the retailer/promotions, etc.

Will you incorporate my current furniture?

YES. Just let me know what you need/want to keep and be sure to include pictures and measurements when uploading your inspiration photos.

What makes you better than the "big box" designer websites?

So. Many. Things. I source from all available retailer websites, which means we can really capture your unique style without any limits. With me, there’s no cap on the number or types of items we can include in your design. You’ll be working alongside a dedicated professional who truly takes the time to understand your needs and pays attention to the details that those big box websites often overlook. The design I create for you isn’t a cookie-cutter solution; it’s tailored specifically to your personality and the functionality and aesthetics you are looking for, while incorporating those special details.

I have a limited budget, is that okay?

Yes. Don’t let this be a roadblock for you. Creativity and outside the box thinking allow me to make big things happen with any budget. We can formulate a plan and I can help you prioritize your purchases, so you will know which items will make the biggest impact in your space.
